Thiruchendur Murugan Temple is the most important Hindu Temple that is committed to Lord Muruga. The temple is situated on the beautiful location near a the sea. The temple seems more beautiful when the waves that come from the Gulf of Mannar lap on the eastern perimeter fence that belongs to the temple. 
 
There are in all six most important abodes of God Muruga and they are revealed in the Puranas. Thiruchendur is that point where the lord Muruga had utilized the base camp before assaulting the evil spirit of Suran who was from Sri Lanka.

Kanyakumari is also known as the Kumari Amman Temple and is committed to Goddess Parvati in the form of Devi Kanya who is a virgin goddess. She had attempted the penance of holding the hand of Lord Shiva. It is dedicated to Goddess Parvati

The pilgrimage of the Rameshwaram is one of the most important pilgrim places for the Hindus. Rameswaram is a most important pilgrimage. It is believed that the Lord Rama had worshipped Lord Shiva in those days when he was on his journey from Sri Lanka.
